Dr. B.
As an author, Dr. B’s love of children and their families come through in her writing! Preston the Preschooler as told by Marianna, the first in a series, is a delightful book about a day in the life of a preschooler in a high quality program. Preston starts off with separation anxiety, crying because he doesn’t want his mother to leave him. He ends up having a wonderful day because of his loving teacher, Señorita Garcia, a room full of materials, and being around his friends. Dr. B was intentional in conveying a diverse classroom which represents the world in which we live.
As a trainer Dr. B designs early learning professional development that meets the needs of programs. She is a credentialed trainer for the state of Kentucky in the specialty area of Birth to Five School Readiness. Some of her training topics include: STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math Oh My!; Implementing Developmentally Appropriate Practice to Promote Joyful Learning and Development; and so many others. Dr. B is a key note speaker who delights audiences with her real experiences in infant, toddler and preschool classrooms. Her latest topic- “My Name is Q and I Can Spell My Name, takes the audience on a journey working with a 5-year-old-child who had never had early childhood experiences and resources and whom told her on his first day at the center, “I can spell my name!” And with pride wrote the letter “Q!”
As a coach, Dr. B delights in working with directors, especially those new to the field of early teaching and learning. She designs a plan with input from the director and provides progress checkpoints to assure quality monitoring.
